Kerry Espey is an author and educator based in Clinton, Iowa. She writes stories that help children understand big feelings with gentleness and hope. She creates storybooks that families can read together when they want comfort, connection, and language for emotions that are hard to name.
Kerry’s debut picture book, Not Yet, was inspired by a true story. Through a mother–daughter bond that unfolds across the years, she explores patience, resilience, and the everyday love that shapes who we become. Kerry’s hope is simple: that readers finish her stories feeling something in their hearts—and feeling a little less alone.
